Overview

What Local SEO Audit Pro does.

Local SEO Audit Pro applies a five-pillar audit framework — Google Business Profile, NAP and citation consistency, on-page local signals, reviews and reputation, and LocalBusiness schema — to whatever business and location you supply. Feed it a business name, website, and target city; it works through each pillar methodically, flags every finding with its impact and a concrete fix, then returns a scored findings table sorted by impact-to-effort ratio, plus a 30/60/90-day action sequence.

Example input: 'Audit the local SEO for Riverside Plumbing Co., website riversideplumbingco.com, serving Austin TX — they appear in organic results but not the map pack.' The skill identifies the gap between map-pack and organic ranking factors, checks whether the Google Business Profile is claimed and fully built out, surfaces any NAP mismatches across directories, and notes missing service-area pages or schema.

The output you get back: a scored findings table (ID, pillar, finding, impact, recommended fix, effort estimate), a GBP review noting missing categories or unclaimed status, a citation/NAP checklist identifying exact mismatches, a local keyword and service-area page map, and a prioritized fix list ordered so a non-expert knows where to start. When live data is unavailable, the skill states what to verify and how, rather than inventing metrics.

Who it's for

Marketing consultants and SEO agencies running local audits for clients across different verticals and cities, and small business owners trying to diagnose why a competitor ranks in the map pack while their listing does not. It is particularly useful when a business ranks in organic results but is invisible in the Google map pack — a symptom the skill is specifically built to diagnose.

In depth

Why a Claude skill beats a prompt template.

A copy-paste prompt runs one static pass and stops. A skill is a bundled program — instructions, examples, and a workflow Claude runs as a unit: it asks for the right input, applies the same pattern every time, and returns the structured outputs above.

FAQ

Common questions.

What information do I need to provide to run an audit?

At minimum: the business name, website URL, and the city or service area you want to rank in. If you have competitor names or know which map-pack listings you are trying to beat, include those — the skill will infer obvious competitors and state its assumptions if you do not.

Does this work for service-area businesses that have no storefront, or only for businesses with a physical address?

Both. The skill distinguishes storefront businesses from service-area businesses at the start of the audit, because the page architecture, GBP setup, and citation strategy differ meaningfully between the two.

What exactly does the output look like — is it a report, a list, or a set of tables?

The core deliverable is a scored findings table with one row per issue, covering the pillar, the finding, its impact, the recommended fix, and an effort estimate. That is accompanied by a GBP review, a NAP/citation checklist, a local keyword and service-area page map, and a 30/60/90-day prioritized action sequence.

Can I use this skill to audit multiple locations for one brand?

Yes. Run the audit once per location, supplying the specific NAP and city for each. The skill notes that multi-location businesses require distinct page architecture and flags that up front so the audit output is scoped correctly to each site.

Will the skill tell me my actual rankings or pull live data from Google?

No — it does not have access to live search rankings or your Google Search Console data. Where live verification would change a recommendation, the skill states exactly what to check and how, rather than estimating numbers it cannot confirm.
